Opposition Leader Accepts Invitation to Co-Chair COVID-19 Working Group

Still on the coronavirus, the Leader of the Opposition, John Briceño confirmed via a release this evening that he has accepted, in good faith, the invitation by the Prime Minister to co-chair the high-level working group on COVID-19.  The release says that Belize is facing a national crisis, not just in health, but in the economy and in the social sector. Briceño says he stands ready to work and act in the best interest of the Belizean people. As such he looks forward to a constructive process in which his party’s ideas, plans and proposals will be considered and he reserves the right to raise issue with any instance where the people’s interests are not duly served.
