The Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital goes into emergency mode now that the first case of COVID-19 is known. Visitation procedures have been adjusted as part of the hospital’s response to the pandemic. Elective services have been postponed and an abbreviated clinic schedule is expected to be announced shortly. Visitors with respiratory symptoms will not be allowed to visit patients. All persons entering the hospital will be scanned and triaged at nurse’s stations located at the K.H.M.H. lobby and Accident and Emergency wing. Minister of Health Pablo Marin, during today’s Ask the Expert session, said that COVID-19 isolation area is to manage critical patients who have been diagnosed with the virus only and that no visitors will be allowed to enter the isolation area.
