S.S.B. Proposes Advance Payment to Pensioners
The Prime Minister sin expected to make official announcements on Wednesday, but another recommendation that S.S.B. Chair Doug Singh revealed during his appearance on Open Your Eyes this morning is that an advance payment will be made to pensioners, due the crisis. According to Singh, there is precedent for this when there have been natural disasters.
Doug Singh, Chair, S.S.B.
“S.S.B. has in the past, when it came to hurricanes and so on, have done an advance payment to pensioners because at times like these when people have to stock up on groceries and have extraordinary expenses, it comes in handy. And we are recommending that we do an advance payment. It is not an additional payment, but just paying one month in advance and then we can adjust thereafter by reducing their future pension payments maybe by one-twelfths—we haven’t worked out the detail mechanics, but we certainly want to see how we can ease the burden on pensioners who are already living on limited income. So that is one of the things.”

“And they are a high risk population….”
Doug Singh
“They will need to stock up on medication. So we are proposing that we do one month advance payment to pensioners.”
