And the Social Security Board says that they haven’t forgotten the contributory pensions. Chandra Cansino says that their pension was deposited today, a week before it’s due. But that is not all. They were also given an advanced payment, as well. She explains how it will work.

“We also provided an advanced payment for contributory pensions and that actually was deposited today which is an advanced payment not only for the month of April which is due the ninth but it also includes one month’s advance payment, as well. So, contributory pensioners will be receiving two months of payments in their accounts today. So, they ask will I be receiving my pension payment next month – the answer is yes. It is just being treated as an advance. So, going forward when the crisis has been averted or lifted, then social security will be making arrangements with pensioners for a repayment plan and that is going to be something like a twelve month payment plan so it shouldn’t burden the pensioners in any way.”
