On the Phone: Covid-19 Patient 6

“Well I was shocked when I got the results back yesterday morning because I had really been feeling fairly well. I had very minor symptoms over the past two weeks the worse being the sinus problems. I had a severe nasal congestion and pressure and I lost all sense of taste and smell and while I do suffer serial allergy I thought all along that was happening. I thought it was a case of sinusitis. The only new was the lost of smell and taste and that was a bit concerning. Not too much because you are hearing more that the symptoms related to coughing and fever and respiratory problems and I had none of that. I was shocked when it came and that I was positive.”

“How many days were you feeling these symptoms?”

“About two weeks with the symptoms. Even now I am still having it a bit but it is subsiding as the days pass. So I regained some smell and taste and is say probably twenty-five, thirty percent is back. It is not fully. The nasal congestion is subsiding now and I believe that I am in the recovery phase for this. I should be good in a few more days.  I believe that I will be retested in about a week’s time just to be on the safe side, to make sure that it is gone.”
