Equipment List for COVID-19

There are many questions on people’s minds. Are there enough ventilators, personal protective gears or test kits?  As you’ve heard and seen, the pandemic is always evolving and so is a country’s preparedness. So, to step up its preparedness plan, the Ministry of Health says that they have been buying the equipment and supplies needed, but the global situation has challenged the immediate access to the items.  Today, Lizett Bell of the Policy Planning and Project Management Unit outlined the status of the supplies.

“These include the clothing and also the other parts that make up the personal protective equipment, which includes the goggles, face shields, masks, surgical masks and N95 masks. Presently, we have on hand, we have procured and have delivered five thousand four hundred and eighty personal protective. As it relates to clothing, we are to release additional six thousand clothing by the end of next week around the thirteenth of April. In addition to those, we have also procured two hundred and seventy four goggles. We have pending to be delivered, eighteen thousand two hundred and seventy-four of the additional goggles. Also, we have face shields. We have procured one thousand three hundred face shields to date; pending delivery, we have about six hundred pending delivery. Non-contact thermometers, we have procured three hundred and seventy-five; blood pressure apparatus, ninety four. We have procured ten thousand nine hundred and twenty N-95 masks. Testing kits for the labs, we have procured fifty kits and pending one hundred and fifty. The lab also requires enzymes which we have procured as well. We have also procured one hundred and fifty boxes of tubes that the lab also requires for the additional testing. As it relates to equipment, we have paid for eight mechanical ventilators, all eight pending delivery. Also, x-ray machines, we have procured a total of seven pending delivery. Six wooden houses that are being used in the different districts; fifty infusion pumps; six patient monitors; and the regular face mask we have procured over one hundred and fifty thousand; two defibrillators; one x-ray machine; twenty-five laryngoscope and one video laryngoscope as well.”

 

Bell says that twenty suction pumps are pending, as well as one hundred and fifty I.V. stands. Oxygen masks; fifteen electro-cardio gram machines and two blood gas analyzers with cartridges to be used on one thousand two hundred tests, among other supplies and equipment have been procured for the lab.
