Patients 1, 2 & 3 to be Swabbed

Marvin Manzanero

According to Doctor Marvin Manzanero, while patient seven is hospitalized at the K.H.M.H., he is doing well. Patient one and two are recovering in San Pedro Town and are expected to be swabbed today.  Dr. Manzanero says that patient three should be swabbed by early next week, at the latest. This is to determine if they have recovered from the virus.

Dr. Marvin Manzanero, Director of Health Services

“Patients number one and two are being swabbed today and that is to try to ascertain whether they are negative. If you recall what we have said before in terms of when you do, how you declare somebody to be negative you would have two negative results which should be in two consecutive days or we had said perhaps we were going to be able to do it not successive days because we want to ascertain that people at that point are negative. But those patients are going to be swabbed today to find out if they are in point of fact having a first result that is negative. Patient three should be swabbed through the weekend, early next week because that is when the fourteen days would have gone through. The preliminary mapping exercise has been completed for both six and seven. For patient number seven and six the immediate close contacts those swabs were taken yesterday and they will be process today. None of these two patients just like patient number four had a clear indication of where they could have been infected which is a little bit different from patients one, two, three and patient number five that you could connect them to an imported case and that is part of the recommendations that have come through in terms of the Cay District because of a possible community spread and the fact that the three patients that we could not ascertained or peg them to an important case are from the same community.”
