COVID-19 Patients on the Road to Recovery
While we have had two patients who have recovered from COVID-19, the remaining fourteen are doing well. The hospitalized patient from Corozal has since been released and is recovering at home. Today, Doctor Marvin Manzanero gave an update on the condition of the others.
Dr. Marvin Manzanero, Director of Health Services
“In terms of the patients hospitalized, one of the patients went home on Friday. So we only have one patient hospitalized currently and that is in the western health region. In terms of quarantine, you will recall that we had a full list of people who were on quarantine in the Corozal district. We only have two persons there, both of them hopefully if the patient that is there is positive and he has recovered he will be able to go home and we have one person who is just completing the days quarantine that we had anticipated from everybody. The other patients are faring fairly good. The fifteen patients that are at home are basically with no specific medication and they are recovering pretty well. We are into our fifth week of having announced a first case and they have asked for their privacy in terms of their recovery process because just like we are also going through different mental stresses, aside from all the social conditions that we have to live with, patients are also going through different processes in terms of their mental situation and so some patients have asked if we can just stopped labeling them. If you will understand, we will just put whenever they are recovered that they are informed and that is placed on the infographics and that is how we are going to go about doing it.”
