K.H.M.H. Still Responding to Accident and Emergency Cases

Renaldo Siu

There has been a minimal number of shootings and accident victims rushed to the national referral hospital for critical care. The state of emergency has caused restrictions on movements and traffic on the highways is limited. In fact, in the past two weeks, there was a report of an accident victim who was taken to the hospital.  Today, while at the K.H.M.H., we asked about emergency management. Doctor Renaldo Siu says that despite the COVID-19 alert, the facility remains ready to respond to accident and emergency cases.

Dr. Renaldo Siu, Head, Accident & Emergency, K.H.M.H.

“Emergency management relies on the person’s condition. COVID-19 is by no means gonna come upfront and we are going to put aside the emergency patient. We have to make sure that the airway is patent, that the breathing is good, that the circulation is maintained; that the neurological is preserved. So these are the kinda things. The fact that we have someone suspected of COVID-19 will not stop us from dealing with the emergency situation.”
