BCVI Reviews Protocols to Ensure Safety for its Clients
B.C.V.I. is in the process of reviewing new protocols to ensure the safety of its clients. But during that time, its message to clients, in case of emergencies, is to access eye care services in the private sector where the costs are prohibitive to many persons.
Carla Ayres-Musa, Executive Director, BCVI
“We were able to do the surgeries up until the time and to do the post ops. But really what we are telling patients is that if you have an eye problem and that problem cannot wait and you’re concerned; you have to seek private help. I mean that really is the only option right now and it just shows the importance of the service that B.C.V.I. provides. I think this is the situation for many businesses and many healthcare providers that we have had to take a step back and assess what the safest thing is to do. And we couldn’t just have patients flooding in with this virus out there and not knowing how we’re going to handle it. So, at the moment, I would say if you have a real eye problem to seek private help or if you are in Dangriga or PG, you can access our clinics there.”
