Dr. Manzanero Says M.O.H. Pick-up Did Not Cross Border

Marvin Manzanero

Last week, a video made its rounds on social media, showing a Ministry of Health pickup truck and alleging that health officers had crossed the western border into Melchor in the vehicle and were seen with contraband beers. The Ministry launched an investigation into the matter and according to Director of Health Services, Doctor Marvin Manzanero; the officer did not cross the border.

“One, the vehicle has a GPS tracker. We have managed to identify what happened. The vehicle was never in Melchor. It did not cross the border. We did ask for a report on the same night. I know that the allegations were that there were beers being placed at the back of the truck. When we went back to review the video we can’t ascertain what is in the black bag. The driver says that it is his backpack that he was putting in the truck. We do know what they were doing. They were investigating two dengue cases and it maps the addresses where they were. It is close to where the investigation was happening. We couldn’t take it any further than that. I mean that is what is there so it wasn’t across the border.”
