2 Police Officers Infected with COVID-19
Two police officers have tested positive for COVID-19. These police officers reportedly came in contact with a female officer who tested positive for the deadly virus earlier in the week. Now, twelve other police officers are in quarantine as a precautionary measure to prevent a potential spread within the police department. According to Commissioner of Police Chester Williams, health officials are still trying to establish how it is that the female police officer got infected.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“Today, twelve additional officers were placed in quarantine resulting from the test results that came out yesterday were two other officers were confirmed to have the covid-19 cases. So the contact tracing for those officers again led to another twelve officers going onto quarantine. I am happy that out of the fourteen swabs done only two were positive yesterday and we are hoping of those who have been swabbed today that when the results come back that at least none would be positive.”

“Sir the Prime Minister said that if you are COVID-19 positive you are either a border jumper or came in contact with a border jumper, is that the case with the two police officers?”
Chester Williams
“We are still trying to establish how the first police officer got because we have to start from there. We know that the other two who tested positive yesterday they got it from her. So the issue is how did she get it. Again we have to understand that we are the police department we interact with people a lot. Especially here in the north the police officers come in contact with border jumpers almost on a daily basis. So there is a high risk or high possibility that they can contract the virus. So we are still trying to ascertain exactly how the first officer got the virus.”
