Woman Gives Birth to COVID-Free Baby
Early data from pregnant women with COVID-19 indicates that the disease is linked to premature birth and changes to the placenta that might reflect altered blood flow. However, these studies were of women with severe cases of the disease. Last week, two pregnant women were diagnosed with the deadly coronavirus. Fortunately one woman has given birth, and according to Doctor Marvin Manzanero, the baby tested negative for COVID-19.

“One has delivered a child by c-section. That person as I understand is home. The other one is under observation at home in Stann Creek.”

“You mentioned I think last week that the babies would have been swabbed?”
Dr. Marvin Manzanero
“One baby has been delivered. That baby was swabbed. We did not get any positive result on that child.”
