Out of the 34 New COVID-19 Cases, 29 are in San Pedro
The number of persons infected by the coronavirus keeps soaring; there are thirty-four new positive COVID-19 cases in the country tonight. Those results were processed today and released late this evening on the Ask the Experts webcast. The preliminary data shows that majority of the cases are in San Pedro, while four are recorded in Belmopan and one in Belize City. Here’s the latest on the results for today.
Dr. Marvin Manzanero, Director of Health Services
“For today, the preliminary data that I have is that we have thirty-four positive cases. Twenty-nine of those cases are in San Pedro – for those people who are saying that we are not testing in San Pedro just so you know that is twenty-nine cases today. One case in Belize City and four are in Belmopan. Three of those four are related to a previously identified person so that is a cluster if you will and one person up until right now seems to be unrelated to any other unidentified case. So, out of thirty-four twenty nine are in San Pedro, so when you explain that in a curve situation you will see the curve continue to spike. So, if you have thirty-plus cases identified everyday then that curve will be in ascending order. When does it start to plateau? Once you start having less than the average cases you have had over the last ten to fourteen days.”
