This Is How Quarantine Food Looks Like

The Marroquin family of Blue Creek Village has been quarantined for as long as forty-three days at the Orange Walk Multi Purpose Complex.  Persons who are not positive are released fourteen days after, but others who are positive will remain for a longer period. At the multi-purpose, there are about twenty-five other persons, some who have tested positive for COVID-19.  Kevin Marroquin complained to News Five today that the food they receive is inadequate and the portions are small.  He says that at times, they get a slice of cheese slapped between two slices of bread or half a spoon of split peas.

On the Phone: Kevin Marroquin, Quarantined

“In the mooring we just got a small burger. We have a burger in the afternoon and in the morning. For lunch time we have decent rice with some plantains and that’s it. We only get a small pieces of hamburger per person. Sometimes the breakfast comes at ten and the lunch comes at two or three in the afternoon and supper comes at eight. They always bring it late. Well the first two weeks that we came we were getting fry beans, and wieners like from the can. We were getting like one wiener with a little bit of food, enough to survive. I don’t know why we haven’t been released. Our test came out positive. The second came that three of us were infected ad four of us weren’t. And they have been going around like that. So, we have four tests now and I don’t know what the ministry of Health is thinking but I know that they think we are still in here.”
