San Felipe Residents Fearful; Asking for COVID-19 Tests!

Today we spoke with village Chairman Margarito Andrades who shared that since the death of Teresita Cruz, residents are scared and clamouring to be tested simply because they are workers at the Caribbean Chicken. He says that so far twenty-eight villagers have shared that they are experiencing signs and symptoms – these individuals he says are not from a single family.  Here’s more from Chairman Margarito Andrades:

On the Phone: Margarito Andrades, Chairman, San Felipe

“I was advised that they were coming to do the testing –  the swabbing for those people that have symptoms especially for those people that are working at Caribbean Chicken in Blue Creek.   The list I have right now are twenty-eight – those are the ones that I have contacts for.”

Andrea Polanco

“That’s twenty-eight showing signs and symptoms?”

On the Phone: Margarito Andrades

“Yes on my list I have twenty-eight persons – that is just my list because the department has a list already that they were going to do before and keep on doing. So, as far as I get more people with symptoms, I just let them know.”

Andrea Polanco

“And so how many people work at Caribbean Chicken?”

On the Phone: Margarito Andrades

“More or less like one hundred and fifty.”

Andrea Polanco

“Wow – so that is a lot?”

On the Phone: Margarito Andrades

“Yes, that’s a lot. I know. And that is why people are so worried about this situation that we are facing.  People that don’t even have symptoms want to go and get swabbed but unfortunately the health is not swabbing the persons who don’t have symptoms, only the persons with symptoms.”
