When Will Belize’s EPI Curve Peak?
During today’s Ask the Experts, Doctor Marvin Manzanero was asked about Belize’s epidemic curve. Here’s what he had to say about the progression of COVID-19 in country.
Dr. Marvin Manzanero, Director of Health Services
“When will Belize’s EPI curve peak? That’s a very good question. I am assuming you are talking about the current wave, wave two. The situation in San Pedro that has peaked and probably peaked two to three weeks ago. We have started to have the recovery of cases so that is on its way down. In some communities in Orange Walk it has started to come down as well, or it has plateau. But we may be able to do it by communities and say where it is going to peak but then the numbers will still remain fairly stable by next week, we assume, because the numbers and clusters happening in other communities outside of Orange Walk district. So, that is why it is kinda difficult to say when it will actually peak for Belize.”
