45 New COVID-19 Cases over the Weekend; 155 Recovered
There were forty-five new cases of the novel coronavirus identified over the extended weekend, bringing the overall number of positive cases for the country to one thousand six hundred and thirty-five. Over the three days, a total of six hundred and twenty-nine samples were processed: sixteen returned positive on Saturday; twenty-one on Sunday and eight on Monday. The positive cases were found across the country, majority in the Orange Walk District, which recorded eighteen of the forty-five new cases. While the number of new cases daily is on the decline, the number of recovered patients is increasing. One hundred and fifty-five persons recovered over the weekend, bringing that overall number to nine hundred and sixty-seven or sixty-one point four percent. There are only thirty-nine point six percent or six hundred and forty-seven active cases. Two patients remain ventilated at the K.H.M.H. and there have so far been twenty-one COVID-19-related deaths.
