Taiwan & Belize Sign Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance
The Government of Taiwan has signed a Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters with Belize. On Monday, Minister of Foreign Affairs Wilfred Elrington signed the MLAT with Remus Li-Kuo Chen, Ambassador of Taiwan to Belize. According to a release, the treaty had been previously signed by Minister Ching-Hsiang Tsai in Taipei. The MLAT is the framework for legal assistance, in connection with investigations, court proceedings or prosecutions.
