PAHO/WHO Donates Ventilator, Accessories to the K.H.M.H.
With the cases mounting every day, there is a welcome donation. The Pan American Health Organization and World Health Organization have donated a patient ventilator and accessories to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. The use of the ventilator is critical in the treatment of COVID patients with respiratory conditions. The equipment and accessories were handed over by Doctor Edwin Bolastig and received by the K.H.M.H. C.E.O. Michelle Hoare. Hoare acknowledged the need for the ventilator due to the increase in COVID-19 positive cases in the country. She says more positive patients with respiratory complications access care from the COVID Critical Care Unit and most require ventilatory support. The ventilator is the first of a set of hospital equipment for the COVID-19 critical care unit being donated by PAHO/WHO through funding received from Germany.
