Dr. Marvin Manzanero, Director of Health Services
“In terms of pregnancy and COVID because we cannot forget that there are many other items and not just the usual COVID-19 routine reports. To date we have diagnosed seventy one pregnant women with COVID-19. Majority of those cases are contact of a positive case. So they would have been usually picked up by routine contact tracing or when people are showing up. We are trying to scale up the protocol especially if you are coming from high risks areas we would do a rest n pregnant women. Out of this seventy one, twenty six women have delivered already. So it means that forty-five women are still pending delivery. All districts have documented a case of pregnancy and COVID-19. You will recall that one person died post c-section. One of the three intubatd patients we have in Karl Huesner is the patient about two weeks ago that delivered by c-section and from the Western Regional Hospital and has remained intubated since then.”
