Rapid Test for Cops!

Earlier in the newscast, you heard Commissioner of Police Chester Williams say that some three hundred police officers are off duty as a result of COVID-19. Well, some of those officers include those who were tested with the rapid tests.  Today, ComPol Williams told the media that the rapid tests are being made available to his officers and over seventy of them from the Eastern Division were tested this weekend and a dozen tested positive.

“On Saturday, we did rapid testing at Central Region and a total of seventy-four officers were tested and of those tested twelve were positive. And even those who were negative were told they would still have to do the PCR test as the rapid test can give some false-negative or something of that sort. So, those officers who are negative still did the PCR test and we await the result of the PCR test.”
