Minister of Health & Wellness Michel Chebat says Dr. Manzanero is Not Fired

Minister of Health and Wellness Michel Chebat today confirmed that Doctor Marvin Manzanero has not been fired from the Ministry. Chebat says that Doctor Manzanero is at home recovering from COVID-19. Meanwhile, acting Director of Health Services Doctor Melisa Diaz Musa is taking up the lead. In fact, Chebat says that Doctor Diaz Musa will now lead the country’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic as a national response COVID team is instituted.

“No. Doctor Manzanero has not been fired. Doctor Manzanero as was publicized on Monday was afflicted by COVID and so Doctor Manzanero is at home at this time but he has not been fired from the Ministry.”

“So Doc, was the face of COVID for the past eight, nine months. What this government has decided to do is to institute a national response COVID team and that team we feel needs to be headed by somebody who has been on the ground, somebody who has been at the forefront in the fight. We have tapped Doctor Melisa Diaz Musa to assist us in that regard, to head that team. There is no replacement. She is heading the COVID team and she is the acting DHS for the time being.”
