Thirteen persons were recorded among the growing list of casualties of COVID-19 since Friday and over the extended Christmas weekend. Five deaths were reported between Christmas Day and Sunday, along with seventy-one new confirmed cases. Three additional deaths were reported on Monday, along with thirty new confirmed cases. Five new deaths were reported today with seventy-seven new confirmed cases. This brings the total number of COVID deaths to two hundred and forty-one. There are ten thousand, six hundred and sixty-eight confirmed cases. The total sum of active cases is now below one thousand, at eight hundred and eighty-three. These figures are cases prior to the long weekend of festivities. It is expected that a spike will be seen in the next coming days which would reflect the activities which occurred over the Christmas break. One of the persons who passed away over the weekend was Renie Hipolito Moh. He was Exhibit Manager for over ten years at the National Forensic Science Service. Moh passed away on December twenty-sixth from complications due to COVID-19. The Ministry of Home Affairs and New Growth Industries says that Moh’s professionalism was defined by his eye for detail, his integrity and reliability, and his devoted service to his country. Moh was a champion for evidence security, and his legacy will persist at the National Forensic Science Service long into the future.
