Rotary hosts international conference
Belize is playing host for Rotary Conference 2000. Representatives of all the rotary clubs in Belize, Guatemala and Honduras will be meeting for the next two days to discuss the organization’s plans for the coming year. The representative of the president of Rotary International, Alejandro Pannini, says eradicating polio by the year 2005 is big on the master list but motivating members for the hard work involved is also very important.

“The projects that are being imposed here in this region, in Central America, are the same that Rotary has in the whole world. Maybe the first or surely most important has been polio plus programmes, which the purpose has been to eliminate the polio by the year 2005. Which will be the first century of Rotary International.”
“The strength, the love, the friendships between the countries, members of this trip. The objective of this conference is generally to evaluate the work of the district governor and of the district in general and the clubs, to share between all the participating clubs the main aspects of the daily work in the countries and in the clubs. Through the exchange of experiences we try to have better brothering clubs, and be in better conditions to promote the objectives of Rotary International.”
The conference is being held at the Biltmore Plaza and runs until Friday.
