COVID-19 Update for 16th of February
The Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 daily report for today, February sixteenth shows that there are thirteen new COVID-19 infections. The latest numbers show that Stann Creek, Cayo and Belize recorded the highest number of cases. Here’s a look at the numbers from Claudette Dakers-Noralez of the Ministry of Health.

“A total of four hundred and twenty-one samples were tested and out of this thirteen samples have resulted positive for COVID-19. There are one hundred and twenty nine individuals newly under investigation. There are fourteen new recoveries to report. Today we also report that thirteen infected persons are hospitalized. Unfortunately, two of these individuals are being treated at the intensive care unit. There are no deaths to report. The cumulative report that we are presenting is from March 2020 when we had our first case. The new total of active cases now stand at one hundred and ninety-three – these are those persons who have been confirmed are within the time frame to transmit the virus.”
