A New Curfew on the Horizon – What Will That Look Like?
The existing regulations for the curfew currently in place will expire next week Tuesday. Minister of Home Affairs Kareem Musa told reporters that even though the COVID-19 cases have declined, this doesn’t mean that they will relax the curfew hours. Here’s how he explains it:
Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs
“So, definitely come March second you will be seeing a revisiting of the regulations. I cannot say that we will be moving the curfew – it is something that we believe has been working well in terms of keeping our numbers down especially since we are right at the cusp of getting vaccinations. If it is that we can get our population vaccinated, then we don’t have to have these rigid curfews in place. So, that is our end goal to keep the numbers down which unfortunately does require keeping the curfew in place.”
