Guatemalan Foreign Minister to Meet with Minister Eamon Courtenay
The territorial dispute between Guatemala and Belize is before the International Court of Justice, with Guatemala having completed its submissions to the court on its claim of Belize’s land and maritime area. For the next year and a half, the team of attorneys on our side of the border will be filing its position on the matter before proceedings commence at The Hague. But on Thursday, at the Adjacency Zone Office of the Organization of American States in the west, a meeting will be held between Belize’s Foreign Minister Eamon Courtenay and the Foreign Minister of Guatemala, Pedro Brolo. Following this meeting, a joint press conference will be held with both foreign ministers. Media from both countries will attend.
