Rollout Enters Phase 2: Bring Proper ID to Centers
The Covid-19 vaccine roll out has been moving rapidly, so rapidly that in Belize City, they are already in phase two. Vaccinations for teachers began on Thursday, so educators are being urged to go to any of the clinics or school sites offering the free shots as soon as possible. Media workers are also being included in this phase. Today personnel from Channel Five, including CEO Marleni Cuellar, got the jab. Whether you are a teacher or media worker, those giving the vaccinations today at the St. John’s College gymnasium asked us to remind those planning to get their shots next week that in addition to their social security card, please bring along your teacher license, press pass or other documents to prove you do indeed belong in this phase. So far over twelve thousand Belizeans have gotten inoculated, beginning with health care workers and those over age sixty, as well as people with chronic illnesses. Over seventy-eight percent of the healthcare workers at the nation’s main referral hospital the Karl Heusner Memorial has already been vaccinated.
