Caribbean News: Vincentians Worry About La Soufrière Volcano Threatens
As Belizeans hope they might have a less restricted Easter than last year, elsewhere in the Caribbean, some residents are dealing with a threat even greater than COVID-19. Those living in the shadow of the volcano on the island of Saint Vincent are keeping a watchful eye on La Soufrière. Kenton Chance has this report for Caribbean Week in Review.

Saint Vincent’s history has been plagued by La Soufrière’s eruptions in 1718, 1812, 1902 and 1979. The eruption on May sixth 1902 killed almost two thousand people, mostly Garifuna people, wiping out the last large remnant of that culture in Saint Vincent.
