Minister says hospital will improve
After all the millennium hoopla has died down the public’s concern will no doubt refocus on the nuts and bolts of health care. We asked the Minister and chairman what the new year has in store.
Jose Coye, Minister of Health
"We can look forward for the next year with the restructuring that we are doing at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in terms of management, in terms of upgrading the capabilities of the hospital, that there will be a marked success and increase in performance of the delivery from this hospital."
Q: "Mr. Menzies as chairman you have been closely overseeing changes at the hospital, what specifically can the public look for when they come into K.H.M.H.?"
Karl Menzies, Chairman, K.H.M.H.
"First of all they could look forward to getting more respect from the staff. But I would like to take this opportunity once again to ask the public to please give some mutual respect to the staff as well because I think you have a good staff here. There may be some that are not as good as others but you have a lot of good people here and since I have been involved with the hospital I’ve seen a lot of improvements and a lot of good things happen here. Unfortunately, and I’m not blaming you, "Mr. Media," but those people prefer to give bad news. They seem to travel faster and further than good news. But there is a lot of good news happening at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital and there’ll be lots more in the new millennium."
