PAHO donates P.P.E.s & Medical Equipment to K.H.M.H.
The Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital has received a donation from the Pan American Health Organization of personal protective equipment and biomedical equipment for its COVID-19 Unit. The items include five oxygen concentrators, two portable handheld and one hundred and twelve fingertip pulse oximeters, three hundred KN95 respirator masks, nine hundred face shields, seven thousand five hundred surgical masks, nine thousand nine hundred and twenty gowns and five thousand gloves. A press release from the PAHO says oxygen concentrators are part of PAHO’s ongoing technical support to enhance medical oxygen supply when demands increase. The donated hand-held and fingertip pulse oximeters facilitate monitoring of oxygenation status during clinical management of patients diagnosed with COVID-19. The P.P.E. kits are critical to minimizing exposure of health workers to COVID-19 as they provide care to patients hospitalized at the K.H.M.H. COVID-19 Critical Care Unit.”
