Contact Tracing Continues after Outbreak at Princess Casino
Contact tracing is continuing after the COVID-19 outbreak at the Princess Casino in Belize City that started on May fifteenth. As you heard just now, the Central Health Region surveillance team has been able to link positive cases at Queen’s Square Anglican School and Wesley Primary School in Belize City. They are also urging anyone who visited the casino and is experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms, to go to their nearest health facility in order to be assessed. The Ministry of Health and Wellness stresses that the only means of controlling an outbreak is through increased testing, early isolation of positive cases and early treatment. They also remind the public to continue to ensure proper use of face masks, hand washing and physical distancing.
