UN Agencies in Belize Seek Input on 5-Year Social Transformation Plan
Three UN agencies in Belize are holding virtual consultations this week to guide the development of a five-year social transformation plan. The United Nations Children Fund, United Nations Development Programme and United Nations Population Fund will use the input from the sessions to help draft the 2022-2026 Country/Sub-Regional Programme Documents. These C.P.D.s identify priority areas of cooperation between the Government of Belize and resident UN agencies as they work to fulfill the UN Sustainable Development Goals Peoples Agenda. In addition to the meeting being held virtually, a data collection exercise is also being carried out among stakeholders from various government ministries, civil society, non-governmental organizations, entrepreneurs and financial institutions. The CARICOM Secretary General designate, Doctor Carla Barnett and Speaker of the House Valerie Woods were featured speakers today.
