Uniformed Parade and Flag Raising for Queen’s Birthday
The Belize Defense Force and other uniformed organizations held a parade this afternoon to observe the Queen’s birthday, which occurred in April, and Commonwealth day this Monday. In addition to the Belize Defence Force, the event at the M.C.C. grounds included the Coast Guard, Belize Red Cross, the Scout Association of Belize and the Belize Girl Guides. According to a release from the B.D.F., dignitaries officially honouring Her Majesty included the Acting Governor General of Belize, the Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence and Border Security, the Leader of the Opposition and the Chief Justice of Belize as well as members of the diplomatic corps.
