“I’m really optimistic, too, and I think there are many opportunities between our two countries, Belize and Guatemala. In Belize have many Guatemalan citizens who have made Belize their new home. There is really a lot that we have to work together on; the students, for example, on the Guatemalan border who cross into Belize every day to study in our schools and also our students who come to Guatemala at the university level; trade; tourism; cultural; about medicine; there are so many opportunities we can have. At the end of the day for this to be successful, you have to have that desire as a person and that it comes from the heart to make sure that this can work and if the functionaries see that we at the political level are willing to see that it works, they will also play their part. If I want to assure you, on behalf of our government, we will do everything possible for the commitment that we discussed today be carried out in the shortest possible time.”
In closing, PM Briceño extended an invitation to President Giammattei Falla and his team to visit Belize.
