COVID-19 at Some Schools: Protocols Prevent Spread
On Wednesday, we reported of a positive case of COVID-19 detected within the staff at Wesley High School in Belize City. Two weeks earlier, a number of students had tested positive at two primary schools; they were closely related to an outbreak that was detected at the Princess Casino. In all instances, there are protocols that were followed to discontinue classes and to sanitize the classrooms and schools to ensure that there was no further spread of the virus. Well tonight, Minister Chebat confirmed that several others schools have identified positive cases.

“We did find that somebody at Wesley was positive and so they had to close down the school. I think they were going to be having a meeting or conference of teachers and so they had to shut that down. There are other schools that have also reported. I think Saint Luke’s also has one and I believe there is a school in Orange Walk that has also reported a teacher positive.”
