Cuban Ambassador at End of Tour
Cuban Ambassador to Belize Lissette Perez Perez is set to depart Belize this year. Her ambassadorship was to come to an end last year but due to the pandemic her time in Belize was extended. Today she told us that she will miss the people and her time in Belize because she had a fruitful and enjoyable tenure.
Lissette Perez Perez, Ambassador of Cuba to Belize
“I have been here more than four and a half years because I was supposed to finish my duty last year but the pandemic didn’t allow me to get back to my country. I don’t know exactly the day but I have to tell you that it has been a pleasure to work here in Belize and have contact with a lot of sectors, including the media, with your channel. Every year we approach the media, your channel and you always receive us in terms of the voting, the bilateral relation, and the cooperation that we want to share with the audience. Thank you!”

“What have you enjoyed about your four and a half years here in Belize?”
Lissette Perez Perez
“Wow. Is this to do a documentary because I enjoyed a lot of things! But the people they are the first things. Every time I go to a new place, the people are always friendly with us. All the places I visited here for me are amazing and beautiful. All the cultures that I have experienced from Garifuna, Maya to Creole – I am very happy to have experienced these cultures and your wonderful country like the archaeological sites, the natural landscapes, the rivers. Belize has a lot of options to cooperate in terms of tourism. I have been enjoying your country; my daughter’s school; the people. Everything I can say about Belize is good. Thank you again.”
