M.O.H.W. Preparing for Return of Cruise Ships
And while the new school year is set to commence in September, there are mounting COVID-19 concerns. What’s on the horizon is the return of cruise ships. A little over two weeks from now, Belize is set to reopen its cruise ports. But if the public has any serious concerns, the Minister of Health and Wellness says rest assured that they will have all the protocols in place to minimize the risk of exposure and spread.
Michel Chebat, Minister of Health & Wellness
“We are always going to be concerned every time we open a new sector of this economy. But I think it is important that we have to have a balance and so what we have been doing is that we have been working with the tourism ministry to put into place proper protocols so that we can safeguard as best as we can. There is no one hundred percent but we are going to try and put in as many measures as we can to safeguard the public.”
