Fallout continues from Cuba Unrest
In news from around the region, over one hundred and forty people were either arrested or reported missing in Cuba as the government cracked down on protests last Sunday and Monday. Thousands of Cubans poured into the streets of Havana and other cities prompted by worsening economic conditions, food and medicine shortages, criticism of the government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions on freedom of expression and right to assemble.
