National AIDS Commission Hosts Vaccination Clinic/Mini Health Fair
The National Aids Commission today hosted a COVID-19 vaccination clinic and mini health fair at its offices in Coral Grove today. A portion of the street was blocked off to traffic as tents were erected and various stakeholders set up booths to engage residents who came out to get their jabs or who simply wanted to find out more information. Executive Director of the NAC, Enrique Romero says that the event catered to persons living with or without HIV.

“As an agency that is involved in public health, we felt that it was our duty, it was our obligation to not only advocate, but to go beyond advocacy and actually partner with the Ministry of Health and Wellness in terms of mobilizing persons to come and get tested here today. Secondly, we decided that we wanted to do this because we have the expertise in terms of mobilization of persons. COVID and HIV have great similarities. We are working with our civil society partners and having them be the one to mobilize the persons to come and get vaccinated, similarly to what we have done in the past in terms of mobilizing them to come and get an HIV test.”
