Before You Relax, Get Vax!
And members of the wider public are also turning out for their vaccinations. This morning News Five’s Duane Moody was at the heart of Belize City to talk to those getting their jab in places they normally only turn out for shopping.

The number of vaccinated persons in Belize is on the rise as the Ministry of Health and Wellness continues on its vaccination campaign across the country. Today, a clinic was set up in downtown Albert Street in front of Brodie’s for accessibility purposes. Whether it was for their first jab or the second, residents who may have hesitated to get inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine are now coming out. And they are resolute on wanting to be safe and protect their loved ones.

Troy Coleman, Communications Officer, Ministry of Health & Wellness
“Once you are eighteen years and older, you can come out to any of our vaccination sites. We are here right now on Albert Street and you can come out for your first dose or your second dose. Remember that if you have eight weeks after you have taken your first dose, you can come out to take your second dose.”
But more than administering the vaccine, Communications Officer Troy Coleman of the Ministry of Health and Wellness says that it is about educating the masses about the benefits.
Troy Coleman
“We are not just distributing masks. We are also educating people about the importance of being vaccinated, how that is important for them as individuals, for their families and the country at large. At the same time, we are trying to encourage them the important of continuing to wear the masks. So we are also teaching them how to use their masks properly and how to ensure that they continue to practice the protocols that have been out in place by the Ministry of Health and Wellness.”
