Internist Doctor Mark Musa, who also appeared in the first segment of the show, said that if we rely only on herd immunity to defeat COVID, many of us will succumb.

“When the virus is spreading it is trying to invade our immune system as well. It’s sole job is to try and survive. So, if we just leave it up to our own immunity to try and achieve herd immunity by just infection, if we have a case fatality rate of say two percent – the current population in the world is seven point eight billion people. If you decide I don’t want any vaccine; I want to achieve herd immunity through infection, twenty percent case fatality of seven point eight billion is one hundred and fifty million people dying.”

Doctor Gabriela Guerra also reminded viewers that contrary to popular belief that only unhealthy people die from COVID-19, her husband Doctor Kevin Guerra was a healthy person who did not drink or smoke and he still died from COVID-19.
