B.T.L. at 92% Vaccination Rate
And while there may be some vaccine hesitancy in the public sector, as many as ninety-two percent of all B.T.L. employees have received their first COVID inoculation. It’s an impressive number, considering that almost five hundred persons are under the company’s employ. Notwithstanding their individual roles, B.T.L. employees, like others in the public and private sectors, are considered frontline personnel regardless of their job responsibilities.
Ivan Tesucum, Chief Executive Officer, B.T.L.
“The employees of B.T.L. are considered frontline workers under the new S.I. What we’ve done is we have a policy which we’ve worked along with the B.C.W.U. which is our union partner, as well as going up to staff and educating them on what that means. And so that policy basically states that you have a choice, either you can get your vaccination or you have the option as well that you can bring in a negative COVID test, but you have a choice. And that is the option that is available to our staff. At this point in time I am proud to state that we have a ninety-two percent out of our almost five hundred staff, we have at least ninety-two percent who have gotten their first vaccination. So that’s a very good statistic and we will continue to educate, continue to work with the other members who at this time are having thoughts about it. But I think that that statistic of ninety-two percent of almost five hundred staff is very big for us and we’ll continue to push this initiative to ensure that as many as possible are able to get both vaccinations.”
