New COVID Measures Designed to Curb Hospitalizations
The Ministry of Health and Wellness and members of the Medical Response Team held a press conference this afternoon to further explain the regulations from their perspective. Those in the productive sector, as well employees of hotels and resorts will be able to continue working under these regulations, but with some restrictions. Dr Julio Sabido, Medical Officer within the Ministry of Health, says the latest measures are expected to avert over a hundred and fifty hospitalizations over the next two weeks.

“With these new measures we are, or the intention is, that we are going to avert a further two hundred and fifty infections, an additional one hundred and fifty related hospitalization country wide, fifteen ICU admissions, and a minimum of ten deaths. So that is the intention with which these measures were proposed. I think you all know what the situation is at the hospitalized, and how they are over burdened, their staff, nurses, doctors, pharmacists, lab techs, everyone, are tired. And so, with these new measures we are hoping that these health care workers can get a break and get some much needed relief.”
