90% of Police Department Vaccinated
But what about the vaccination rate within the police department? On October first, the new regulations come into effect and will be enforced by police officers. ComPol Chester Williams says that the provisions of the S.I. will be enforced and unvaccinated officers must produce a negative PCR or rapid test every two weeks.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“When October first comes, again whatever the provision of the S.I. is, we are going to ensure that there is compliance from our side. And so we don’t foresee that there is going to be any difficulty. Our number of vaccinated persons continues to rise, and I mean police officers, continue to increase. We are well into ninety something percent of our officers being vaccinated and we are optimistic that we are going to – maybe not reach a hundred percent, but close to a hundred percent vaccination before the first of October comes.”
As of September twenty-third, one hundred and eighty-seven thousand two hundred and seventy persons are vaccinated. One hundred and eleven thousand and seventy-three are fully vaccinated and twenty-one thousand five hundred and seventy-two children have also received their vaccination.
