AG on Balancing Need for Emergency Care and Protecting Health Care Workers

What about accessing public health care facilities in the event of an emergency, without being vaccinated or proof of a negative test? A.G. Young says persons facing a medical emergency will not be denied care.

“And, please understand that, our legal drafts people are working right now with task force in developing these regulations. But, the idea is government has to protect these health care workers at these public facilities. Unfortunately, we lost a nurse last night to COVID. And we have lost three medical doctors already. So, we have to protect them. They are on the frontline and they are exposed. Now, if there is a medical emergency, there is an exception to accessing medical health facilities. But, government has a duty to protect health care workers and those who use these medical facilities, members of the public.”
