“We’re seeing now numbers in other districts as well climbing so not just the Belize District. We do know that dealing with the delta variant that is so much more transmissible than the previous original strain of the virus. We do know that transmission will continue and numbers will go up. We keep talking about the same things most nights with regards to public health measures and the importance of public health measures and we’ve got to drive this home even stronger to our community, to workplaces that the only way we can control these numbers is to control the movement in our community, control the socialising, ensure that we take the responsibility and for those who are very discipline, continue to be disciplined.”
