US$100,000 in IT Equipment From EU for Ministry of Finance

The Head of Cooperation of the European Union for Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas, Aniceto Rodriguez, today handed over to Joseph Waight, Financial Secretary, new information technology equipment for the Ministry of Finance. The IT equipment comes under the Public Finance Management Programme under the 11th European Development Fund. It includes one hundred IT devices, including laptops, desktop computers, servers, and scanners. These are for the  offices of the accountant general, contractor general, auditor general and Ministry of Finance and valued at over one hundred thousand US dollars Technical assistance under the EU programme will finance workshops and seminars to strengthen the ministry departments’ capacities using the new IT equipment.
