Woman Dies on Way to Her Doctor in San Ignacio

Today News Five received a video of a woman, apparently dead, carried to the back of a police mobile in San Ignacio. Reports on social media were that she died in front of a private clinic on Hudson St. We reached out to the doctor, Dr. Jorge Garcia, seen in the blue shirt in the video, who confirmed that indeed she was one of his patients. He says she came in two weeks ago with pneumonia related complications. She was receiving treatment and appeared to be improving. But today while on her way to his office for a check-up, she collapsed and died on the stairs. It’s an unfortunate ordeal that according to Dr Garcia, he has never seen in his forty years of practice as a medical professional. Dr. Garcia confirmed that the patient was awaiting the results of a COVID test.
